Election Day Re-Runs

What have you done to me?
Waking up early-
Running in the cold to catch the bus,
These are not things I do.
Eleven-thirty-five:
I missed my wish time.

I wish I was there already-
I wish it wasn't so cold-
I wish my lungs didn't (still) burn-
I wish gargoyles were free-
I wish vampires were friendly-
I wish I could fly & spit fire & save the world.
